What is the medicine used for:
Fenoflex® is indicated as an adjunct to diet and other non-pharmacological treatment for the followings:
- Treatment of severe hypertriglyceridaemia with or without low HDL cholesterol.
- Mixed hyperlipidaemia when a statin is contraindicated or not tolerated.
- Mixed hyperlipidaemia in patients at high cardiovascular risk in addition to a statin when triglycerides and HDL cholesterol are not adequately controlled.
What is in the medicine:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Fenofibrate Micronized 160 mg
How much and how often should you use this medicine:
Fenoflex® film coated tablet may be given at any time of the day, with or without food.
Adults: The recommended dose is one Fenoflex® film coated tablet taken once daily.
Patients currently taking one Fenofibrate 200mg capsule can be changed to one Fenoflex® film coated tablet without further dose adjustment.
Elderly patients: No dose adjustment is necessary, except for decreased renal function.
Patients with renal impairment: Dose adjustment required with regard to the patient’s CrCl. Dosage reduction is recommended in paitient with renal impairment. The use of fenofibrate is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min).
Hepatic impairment: Fenofibrate 160mg is not recommended for use in patients with hepatic impairment due to the lack of data.Paediatric population: The use of fenofibrate 160mg is contraindicated in paediatric subjects.
